It would've been interesting to hear what he had to say about Ireland in the future...

If time travel was possible, someone would come back and share secrets of the future, like Lotto numbers. Better still, a Sports Almanac, just like in B.T.T.F

If you had read the piece you would have seen that he "returned to his time"
back in 2001, so he couldnt be here.... or could he ? ;)

    Still an interesting read though.

And the dumb experts they had on shows like GMTV talking about it. Just brilliant. And just generally saying we were all fooked. I wonder where they are now , eh.

working on the solution to 3000ad we are royally fooked because 3 is an odd prime!

Yeah , come to think of it , 2 was the only even prime number so we must be over the worst of it. Phew.

Why would a time traveller sign up to a message board to tell everyone: "Hey guys, I'm a time traveller!"
I would think he'd have been told to keep it secret.

hang on , stop the computer bashing.
It's okay , I've written a patch , everything going to be okay.

Reading this thread has made me realise, once again, that the Human Race is royally screwed. Wonder what (or indeed who) will wipe us out?

Apart from all the obvious bullsh**, it'd be hard to believe that we'd still be using 32bit machines as standard in the year 2036 at the rate we're going. If they used 64bit machines or higher then Unix wouldn't have that 2038 problem. And whats the worst that could happen. Oh no! that clock on the lower left hand corner is wrong!

i remember a cartoon sketch where they thaw this i.t. guy out in 2999. "er, we've got his computer problem we were hoping you could help us with"

you had to be there really.

    reading the sketch, not 2999.

    or maybe both.

if i was a time traveller, i'd dedicate my life to the pursuit of stealing GWB's dna and taking it to the future where I'd clone him as a girl, then send her back in time to seduce him so he really can go fu..<snip>

on second thoughts, what were those lotto numbers for next weeks draw?

or maybe stock market listings for the next couple of years.

dopn't think i'd have time to post on forums any more anyways.

you could have so much fun messing with peoples heads too.

Every computer system on the planet runs on an internal clock...if that clock is wrong or starts showing negative values, then the system can potentially fail.
As for why we'd still be using 32-bit in 2038....Titor was talking about legacy systems. A lot of the systems and servers that form the infrastructure of the internet today, are pretty old relatively speaking; in the event of a global upheaval/world war like Titor reported/predicted, stuff like upgrading computer systems either wouldn't happen or would be scaled back a lot.

    *re-reads post*

Good god, I'm being an apologist for Titor's theories...someone shoot me now...

    Good stuff.

As long as Tom Cruise is around to help save him family while aliens destroy our planet*, we'll be just fine. :p
