Has only used an Alesis Multimix USB mixer in the past? Any reviews?

    Pros v Cons.

I'm thinking about buying one, but I can't find any reviews on the web.

BTW, I've just made it passed my 100th post.... :D

Good suggestion there from Ancient1 - The only thing is that you should pay close attention to how long someone's owned their kit and whether or not they point out the shortcomings that EVERY music product will have.

Many people who put up reviews give everything 10 out of 10, even though they've only owned the kit for a couple of weeks. I'd imagine this is because nobody likes to admit they may have bought a lemon. Ignore ANY review that just rave about a product - Ignore the total review scores and pay attention to anyone who's moderately critical and detailed in their response. These people have usually tried to use the product to the best of its ability, come up with a couple of problems here and there and will usually comment on what the REAL failings might be.

Likewise, ignore people who completely slate a product (unless they're the majority) as the chances are they won't know what they're doing or have really cocked up with their purchasing decision in the first place.

The other place you might check is the Sound on Sound reviews & forum (Future Publishing) in the UK. They concentrate on digital/computer audio kit and most of their forum users and reviewers pull no punches when they rate a new product. Future Music is a publishing competitor with SOS but comes across as more of a rag-mag and often show some very REAL bias in their product reviews.

Anyway - Sorry about the apparent tangent but it is relevant when reading any reviews!

    Cheers,

    Gil
