    He's been mentioned here a few times, if you do a search from the main paranormal page for 'titor' you should see most of the threads relating to him. We even had our own poster claiming to be John Titor at one stage but unfortunatly he didn't stay very long. My own personal opinion is that he was a clever hoaxster, altough hoaxster is probably too negative a word, I think he was trying to teach us about modern society by getting us to view it as an outsider would. The main reason I don't think he was completely genuine was the various things he said he needed the computer for. I can't remember exactly now but it was something to do with a bug in Unix and the computer he was looking for was the only one capable of interpreting something in the source code, which sounds well and good but essentially any computer capable of running Unix would have been able to do what was needed.

    It was a very convincing and entertaining 'hoax' though.

    Imagine you are Jewish and you are able to travel back in time to Germany in 1935. All around you are the patterns of thinking and action that will lead to a great deal of harm, death and destruction in just a few years. You have the advantage of knowing what will come but no one will listen to you. In fact, they think you're insane and the situations you describe could never happen.

    What I feel is not anger, it is sadness that you cannot see what I see.

    John Titor's postings were carefully orchestrated but I personally believe it was an elaborate hoax. There has been numerous postings about it over the community. There's a big post about it on abovetopsecret.com - You should read it.
