Can anyone help with my PS2?

    Hi,

My PS2 (which i got a good few years ago at this stage) is giving me trouble when I try and start games on it. Most of my games work fine e.g. Tiger Woods 2005 etc, but when I put in PES 4, nothing happens like the playstation doesnt recognise it. When I leave it at that black screen with browser and system configuration on it, the game eventually appears in the browser but when i choose it, nothing happens, the game still will not play.

I have the PS2 on its side, does this have anything to do with the problem? Any help would be really appreciated as I'm dying for a game of PES4.

I cleaned the lens with one of those self cleaning discs a couple of weeks ago too and that seemed to help for a while, but the same problem is arising again. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Putting the playstation on its side is thought to cause problems but it could just be supersticion.
Anyways , you may just need to adjust the height of the laser , just google it and you'll find a full and detailed set of instructions on how to do it yourself.

Failing that, go to a Sony store and ask them about getting it replaced. Sony do an offer where they replace your PS2 even if its out of warranty with a new one for a relatively cheap price. I got mine replaced for 100 euro a year or two ago so it might be a bit cheaper now. They replace the joypad too which is handy because mine was getting a little scruffy.
