You really need to distance yourself from the value of money when you're playing those stakes. Losing 250k in one session is mental.

I recommend "The Professor, The Banker and the Suicide King" by Michael Craig.

It describes how the largest cash games seen in Vegas came about. Ted Forrest, Lederer, Todd Brunson, Doyle Brunson, Jennifer Harman, Johnny Chan and others played for most, if not all of their bankrolls over a period of a few years against a lad called Andy Beal from Texas worth a few hundred million. $250,000 in one session was nothing to them.. $100,000/$200,000 Limit Holdem heads up. You get a bad run for 3 hands and you're down nearly a million!! They had $15M on one table at one stage!

When you get a bad beat, just think about Todd Brunson.. He was heads up with Andy Beal in 10k/20k Limit Holdem I think. By the turn, Andy had 2 pair, T's and 5's and Todd had the nuts, a str8 to the J. Re-raise after re-raise (Todd when asked about it later reckoned it was close to 20 re-raises) saw the pot grow to over 1M. They were both out of money and the cards were flipped.... 5 on the river. ul

I doubt even the highest of the high rollers would ever play this level especially shorthanded. You could easily lose 50 million in one session.

i haven't got too far in the book... but i'm sure the pros did lose a lot.. Beal apparrently didn't care about the cash and the pros froze under the pressure.. I haven't found out who the suicide King was but am dying to fnd out. As HJ mentioned, the pros did pool together when they played 100k/200k limit.. Maybe the books full of sh*t, but it seems ligit.. And by the size of the cash games going on over here at the moment...100k/200k Limit is not so ridiculous!
