If you want to choose a co-mod let me know (tom@spinsol.com). Also maybe we should think of splitting the Humanities board up into two topics... I think Politics should be one but I cant see a clear second common topic. anyone?

Well you could just split it into 'Politics' and 'Humanities'.

I might be willing to offer my services as a Moderator on a 'Politics' board. I think I can be reasonably balanced on this (my only pre-judgement would be to limit the length of posts).

Have to agree with amp here. the tech board is being overloaded to the point where i don't even vist that often anymore as a lot of the issues aren't revelent to me or i could be bothered sifting thorugh the hundred or so posts that have appeared in the few hours since i last log in. It would make more sense to phase out the tech board and split it in to smaller boards where issuse can more clearly be identified. It has already been done b4 with programming, security, unix etc. U could split it in to software and hardware sections to make it easier.

Also, in my opinon, it would make more sense to rename the Network board the Comms board as most of the muppets here won't realise there supposed to post their 'i hate esat/eircom' opinons there. Maybe make it 'Network/Comms' might be better com to think of it.

Good idea, I've renamed the board and it will filter through to old posts next time the boards are re-indexed (takes about an hour and it slows the machine so I dont want to do it for such a small change).

I think humanities is fine as it is. Most of the topics involve discussion of political and other aspects of issues so it wouldn't really be possible to split it into two.

If anyone should be made a moderator, it should be Bob The Unlucky Octopus - This bloke takes so much time over his replies, and they are always serious, helpful and intelligent - Infact I know him quite well, he is one of those extremely intelligent people that will try their best to help you with anything he can, and him being a lawyer / medic helps things... I was in fact about to e-mail DeVore/Cloud about volunteering to help out with Humanities which is the board closest to my heart...I didn't see this topic tho

In any case- gandalf has my full support as a Humanities mod- he does a fantastic job in Sports- he's a top, top guy AND a Gooner to boot- how could I not approve of him as a mod?(wan the Gunners!)

I'd like to help out with boards.ie in some capacity- but nfortunately, the other boards that I'd like to be involved with (Film/Video, RPG, Literature, Wargames) are either not busy enough to warrant another mod or already have 2 mods I'd still be more than willing to lend a hand however...if there's anything that I could assist with just drop me a line

I've had experience mod'ing the official TFC forums...not extensive experience, but I'm willing to learn

Since Vocal Yokel, I mean Vocal Local or whatever it was is gone, how about starting a Counties section in the Communities section. Don't see anywhere else to put a "my County is better than yours" section.

You would need lots of moderators though. And 32 Forums, well 33 as you might need a general one too.
