Cheap Digital Camera

I'm becoming a bit worried by my reliance on boards to solve the problems in my life... Anyway this seems like the right board, feel free to move if its appropriate.

I'll be going on holiday soon for a month and have just lost access to a digital camera I was going to use. Now I face the prospect of being without a means of capturing photos on a holiday to Hong Kong. This upsets me. My budget is already stretched thinly so I'd like to fork out as little as possible.

So, does anyone have any suggestions on what kind of digital camera has a nice balance of quality/cost? Luckily I'll be in Hong Kong so I could buy it there and it'll probably be much cheaper, but I am mostly ignorant on this topic.

    Any help greatly appreciated.
