HI all, I currently have a WinTV PVR250 but have had non-stop trouble with it since the day I bought it so its time for a change. I need one that can handle both PAL and NTSC as I have a few american tapes I want to convert to DVD and I want it to be external so I can move it between a few machines depending on what I want to record. If it could take a scart connection it would be absolutly brilliant but I suppose thats asking a bit much. Anybody know of any good ones? I had a bit of a look around for reviews but there doesnt seem to be many of them out there.

    Thanks.

John, I get good results with the pvr 250, but I don't use the software that came with the card. I use WinTVCap to capture the video and then edit the mpeg video with Mpeg-VCR which eliminates any problems with audio sync on long captures (VideoRedo is also good). If I'm playing back the captures on the computer, I use DScaler which does a great job of deinterlacing the video. Might be worth giving these a try, if you haven't already.

Thanks butts. I've never heard of WinTVCap but I'll give it a go just in case it works.
