Band being built

Im a guitar teacher (19, playing for ten, teaching in a guitar school for three) in South Dublin looking to put together a new band in the next few weeks.

Anyone who wants in should email me asap at craigeris@hotmail.com or pm me.

I'll be looking to create something different from the modern scene. Not some punk, metal or indie thing. This would be a rich, funk rock kind of thing (but I'm interested in everything, especially the electronic front).

I have a stack of songs written. Some really nail what I'm trying to do. Others don't. So I feel I need a group of people who are interested in developing a sound that is genuinely different from the modern wave. Something very funky, entertaining and generally fun. None of this standing still and lifeless on the stage ****. None of this self-confessional somber crap. None of this mindless background sound. I'll looking to build a band with that distinct vitality to it that I have found in some of my favourites (like rory gallagher, sly on the family stone, jefferson airplane, fela kuti [check him out!] or any of the really good blues) but have noticed is lacking from whats being spewed out today.

    Get what I'm saying?

I could send some samples to anyone who's interested. Any instruments. Keys and brass would be very handy to the sound.

I set up a temp site to carry some recordings. It has one one it at the moment, 'Stockbrokin' Pimp'. It's one of my main pieces, summing up my intended sound quite well.

Tell me what you think. The recording is done on a crappy 4-Track with MIDI drums and I seem to remember it being largely a first take. It's an idea only, not a proper recording! There'll be more to come.

If this is your thing, contact me!
