Arrest Warrant

This may be in the wrong place if it is i apologise but does anyone know how long an arrest warrant is valid for?

From the time you are stopped by the gardai have 6 full months to either charge you or not. As in they post you a summons.

An arrest warrant never goes out of date! Its valid until you're caught. They're hardly gonna cancel it just cause they can't serve you with the summons! a hell of a lot of criminals would get away with just hiding fora year to avoid any sort of conviction! lol

Not speeding It was not having tax or insurance on four separate occasions.Not very clever I know.

Offences happened in 1999.Long and the short of it is was arrested brought to jail did 3 days there the warrants never turned up so was set free.Seven months later was arrested again brought back to jail did a few days and was let go again because the warrants couldnt be found.Have asked a Gaurd,several solicitors and a District court clerk and no one can tell me where i stand.

So how long do you have from the date of a fine to pay before you are in danger of being arrested??

Was in court once, anyone who didn't show had a warrant issued against them.

I turned up and got three months for each count of no tax or insurance.

How long after the orignal fine was issued do you have to pay it before they start looking for you?? With summons and the likes.

They usually tell you on the day.In my case it was about four months i think.
