Heh, I'm always reminded of Adam Faith's dying words every time I think of FIVE. "Channel Five is all **** isn’t it. Christ, the crap they put on there, it’s a waste of space"

Ah come on now sceptre, it's not all that bad. You have the ever wonderful "All new cosmetic surgery live" presented by the lovely Vanessa Feltz  Seriously though, has anyone seen that program? It's truly awful.

I bet Five wish they had thought up of Celebrity Love Island before ITV.

But to answer the original question, I have Five on a UK Sky digibox. I have a friend who lives near Roslaire in Wexford and they can pick it up on an aerial.

In fairness to Five, they picked themselves up from their Channel 5 days and occasionally have decent programs on. Occasionally they still have crap too, but at least it's not quite as bad as it was.

You'll need a UK Free To View Sky card. This card will also get you all the ITV regions and Channel 4. There are lots available on eBay. Make sure it is "active" before you bid. Or if you know someone in the UK they can order a new card from Sky which will pick it up also for £20.

I got one last year on eBay for about €40. Well worth it.

oh thats great thanks for the infor. my husband is english so i can get his mum to get me one i suppose. thanks for that!

If you get our mother in law to get one in England, make sure she can activate it first. As far as I know it needs to be put into a UK digibox and used first before it will work here. That digibox will need to be connected to the phone to do this.

I'm not sure if this info is accurate but I think that's how it works.

No, it can be activated in the Irish box IIRC. And you don't need a phoneline inserted, in fact, it's advised not to connect your phoneline to your Irish box when you've a UK FTV card inserted.

One good programme on Five - Fifth Gear

That and the occasional UEFA Cup game. :)

To be honest, al the english terrestrial chans are boo. But 5 is one of the better ones. And I liked AllNew Cosmetic Surgery Live. It was interesting in a really really messed up way.
