    Does anybody know the formula for initing roids ala costs, revenue increase etc?

    I've just calculated in code, and then by hand to double check, and it's different from the manual.

    It explains all that in the manual...
    Each initiated roid gives you 1500 points on your score for a start. Uninitiated dont give you any score.

    Each roid you initiate costs 250 more than the last roid.

    The first roid of each resource gives you 350 of that resource. After that, every roid of that resource that you initiate gives you 1 less than the roid before it, until you have 100 of those roids. Then you stop going down and get 250 for every roid of that resource.

    RTFM? I've thought of that. The cost and score is still the same but the manual is out of date for calculating resources from inited roids. I think (maybe) that it goes on your total roid count instead of each resouce when initing, as follows:

    I have 10 roids and init 3 which gives me 13. According to the manual this will give me 4722 of that resource per tick (excluding planet mines). But according to planetarion I'm getting 4394 of that resource per tick. Unfortunatly I can't remember how many roids I had when I did this live. Anyway, here's the log file from my applet:

    ======================
    Calculating Metal
    roidcount set to: 10
    current resources
    i=0
    adding 350
    resource =350
    i=1
    adding 349
    resource =699
    i=2
    adding 348
    resource =1047
    i=3
    adding 347
    resource =1394
    i=4
    adding 346
    resource =1740
    i=5
    adding 345
    resource =2085
    i=6
    adding 344
    resource =2429
    i=7
    adding 343
    resource =2772
    i=8
    adding 342
    resource =3114
    i=9
    adding 341
    resource =3455
    initing resources 3
    adding 340
    resource =3795
    adding 339
    resource =4134
    adding 338
    resource =4472
    ======================

    Which is probably meaningless but I've also gone through this by hand with a calculator and came up with the same results. I think I'll have to scan for more roids, which will be expensive. Unless there's an error in my logic, and I really hope there is.

    I started reading that but my head started to hurt about half way through and I gave up. I shall go play with junior Lego instead.

    I'm not suprised it hurt, it's wrong. I now have the correct formula's and will be posting up something cool in a while. Watch this board!

    It looked wrong, but i decided not to comment, because when i tried to think of why it looked wrong, i just got confused smile.gif

    the pa forum is full of that kind of stuff, maybe you should use a roid calc??

    a roid calc is what I was making, that's why I needed the formula.
