Partition has dissapeared

    Ive just formatted my C drive and when i reinstalled winxp one of my other partitions has dissapeared. In Partition Magic, what once was my F: drive, is now showin as 'Unallocated'.

    Have a look in Disk management Control Panel/ Administrative Tools/ Computer Management/ Disk management and see is it mounted.

    Did you install WinXP with Fat32 or NTFS, if Fat32 and your Partition was NTFS it won't see it correctly.

    In partition magic there is an option to undelete a partition as I've highlighted in the picture. Click on the partition you want to undelete and then "undelete partition" and then apply.

    Undelete partition doesnt work, its not finding the drive, its showing as unallocted in partition magic. Its not showing at all in the device manager. all formating was in NTFS

    Just managed to solve the problem by another means, thanks for all the help guys :)

    lol, no secret, i installed ide drivers from my mobo cd which fixed the problem. The strange thing is my hard drive is SATA.

    And i was thinking all along it was an ide issue.....there you go we have to expand our minds even more......thanks for letting us know.....at least now we can look at this from other angles
