Had an interview last week and was asked some nasty questions.

If you were given a project how would you know if it was a success when complete?

What person/group of people do you most admire?

I thought the first one was nasty.
Any ideas on a good answer :)
The second had a follow up question

What key trait do you admire about them?
Do you have that trait yourself?

    People with moneh

What key trait do you admire about them?
    They have moneh

Do you have that trait yourself?

It's a success if it meets the targets set out at the start. (simple answers are best)

You'd an interview with an american company didn't you? they love this crap.

Basically anyone you can say was a hard worker/loyal/honest/etc. (Your father/mother, some inventor - not the creator of that company cos that lickin ass.)
Do you have that trait yourself?
I'd like to think so. (Humble but confirms that you do)

Q1: Are you resourceful? - Demonstrate this resourcefulness while recounting a pleasant anecdote which supports your demonstration.

Q2: Do you work well on your own initiative while remaining unified professionally within a focused team orientated ethos? Demonstrate this using gestures.

Q3: Are you motivated - demonstrate this by throttling my bimbo colleague from HR who formulated these wanky questions because she knows nothing about:
Engineering, Technology, Finance, Science, Business, Languages.

Human Resource departments are filled with resourcefull humans - that is why they are paid well to do feck all bar misread CVs and annoy people.

    - Just fill you CV with the same "buzz-words" from their childishly thrown together job-spec./advertisement and talk back to them in an imatation of their of their own pseudo-professional babble.

    - - You know its the guy with the nicest tie/girl who doesn't threaten their insecurites who'll get the job.

    They are pretty easy questions...
Common sense should prevail for the first one. Being able to demonstrate that you know when a project is finished is actually asking you how you would organise a project in order for it to be completed i.e completing the tasks involved, making sure your priorities are correct and achieving the initial target or objective stated...

2nd one is easy. You could expand on this question till the cows come home.
I would answer this question with 2 people, someone from the business world and someone from something you are interested in. Examples might be Alan Sugar and Roy Keane (if you interested in footie). You could say that you admire Keane for his motivation and determination and his perfectionism etc.

Most inportantly, you need to be able to bull**** in a constructive manner.
I know that sounds like a paradox, but you have to be able to do it for an interview because sooner or later the interviewer will throw 1 (or more) curveballs...
