Advice on travelling from Nice to Barcelona

    Hi, Im headin to nice on the 19 july till the 29th August. I have mates over there at the moment, so thats not a problem. But I was looking at travelling from nice to Barcelona, down to see a game in the Nou camp on the 24th august.
    Anybody have any ideas how long this would take and what would be the best way to do this. Ideally we want to be leaving Nice on the 21st August and head back on the 26th to Nice. Also if anybodfy has any suggetsions on where to go thats not lightyears away from Nice, as I will have time to kill.

    I've a friend that does that trip by road every few weeks.
    I think it's about 6hrs, and he pays quite a bit in motorway tolls.
    I don't think there's a direct train, but I think there are direct buses..

    cheers Harry, I was looking at doing it byt rail.
    Consists of 3 trains, and adds up to 11.5 hours on 3 trains

    You can get a train from Nice to Montpellier, and then another one to Barcelona. Did it myself 2 or 3 years ago. Can't recall excatly how long it was, bit it certainly wasn't 11.5 hours!

    Theres a train from Nice to Perpignan that takes think something like 5.5 hours. then theres a train from Perpignan to another train station about an hour away. And then i think ye stop there for about 3 hours, and then there is a train to Barcelona that takes up to 4.5 hours as it stops in rush hour.

    hmmm
    A return flight from Nice to Barcelona with iberia 21-26 august is €135 per person including taxes.
    Less hassle if you have the wads and the flight time is only 70 minutes.
