Nicely done Flukey. I'd consider sticky_ing it but seems cluttered up there!

    Good work buddy! :)

The Qualifiers are looking very interesting now:

    Monaghan
    Westmeath
    Down
    Louth
    Carlow
    Meath
    Wicklow/Donegal
    Sligo
    Clare
    Leitrim
    Wexford
    Kildare
    Limerick
    Roscommon
    Armagh/Derry
    Cavan/Tyrone

Teams for Sligo to avoid (IMO):
    Meath
    Wexford
    Limerick (possibly)
    Losers of Armagh/Derry
    Losers of Cavan Tyrone

If they play as well as they can play (last years first round against roscommon, this years first half against Leitrim and the second half last Saturday against Longford) Sligo can make it into Round Three.

    Nice job Flukey! :)

I would have agreed with your assessment of Sligo a month or twoago, but now I am not convinced that they would ease past anyone in the draw. Fair dues to Leitrim, beating Sligo and coming within a couple of points of Galway, I would like to see them win a couple more games.

Oh no, we wouldn't ease past anyone in the above draw. Not a hope, we've been on a low ebb since losing against Donegal in 2003 and on dire form since the Fr Tommy Murphy Cup fiasco (albeit we won a few challenge games earlier on this summer).

It depends what the team do on the day though, they can play absolute muck and bow out with a whimper or they can play as well as I've seen them play in the past (including the last 20 minutes against Longford, they were excellent then) and if they do that, then Sligo have a great chance of making it to the Third round.

Sligo can't play Meath in the next round, only:

    Clare
    Wexford
    Kildare
    Limerick
    Roscommon
    Armagh/Derry
    Cavan/Tyrone

Thanks for clearing that up for me. :)

    Sligo can't meet Derry either.

    Because......we're going to stuff Armagh.
    :D

Has anybody else seen these, I only just found them on RTE, video highlights from the games shown on the Sunday/Saturday game

    They are good alright.

I posted that link for a few friends I have abroad but apparently they get this message:

RTE.ie can only provide video highlights of Championship Games on the Web to residents of the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Regrettably the service is not available to residents overseas.

:( A pity really. I was hoping to be able to show them what I spend my summer Sundays and the odd Saturday watching.

I can understand why for legal reasons! But it is a shame, these games are a greta advertisement for the sport and our country! I brought some american friends to the Leinster hurling final and they had a great time, even though they had never seen the games before (although it could be the beer and my great company either ;) )!

I've brought people from abroad too and been near foreigners who were seeing a game for the first time. Before the second of the International Rules games last October they had a Munster v Leinster hurling match. There was not a lot of people in at that stage, but you could hear all these oohs and ahhhs in Australian accents all around as they watched in amazement. :) It's a pity that more of them didn't see it.
