Stumbled across this as a google ad

    http://www.broadband4all.net/

Go on, click on it first.

They want €3.33 a month off people to upgrade their 56k connection to "Broadband Like" speeds! And a worse designed website I have never seen, including the old Power City one... I hate to say it, but LOL.

Hmm, there is a similar advert in today's Sunday Times. It got a "Computer Active" award

If it was as good as it says it is, we'd have heard a lot more about this.

It's good for gob****es. How woudl they explain how it could allow you to download a linux distro at broadband speeds over a 56k modem?

Dunny how the link to leave your own comment is an email.

These products are hideously over-sold. That said, they do have some vague value to some people (basically, they'll do a better job of text compression than a modem will and they'll give you the option to reduce image size at cost of quality.) But yep, fairly pointless. Here's a review of one (written when broadband was hideously expensive in the author's country: http://dansdata.com/propel.htm)

    Another Onspeed?

I'm so glad they included what people in Roscommon have to say about it - that was the clincher for me.

On the whole speed/performance thing - I downloaded this little prog
    http://www.cfos.de/speed/cfosspeed_e.htm
and managed to get myself a freebie by testing it for them. I found it made a great difference when using a number of P2P progs. I'm not a gamer, though I believe gamers say it helps with consistent speeds too.

    Has anyone else used it?

Woh, that website reads like an ebay sale. I certainly wouldn't buy from a website that is so badly put together.

Are onspeed gone now? onspeed.ie just gives an empty directory listing.

It IS OnSpeed. Go all the way to the end and you'll see the 'Click on banner' message.
