 That Suck's. I have never had or heard ony of them Hitachi's die Before. Anyway... Well the HDD isnt too important so get what ever 1 you want But i gotta say them Deskstar by Hitachi are amazing HDD's... Im getting another soon

Ans as said above, wait for next gen GFX cards... Next gen card's will be expensive and 185 quid for a 6600GT is pretty dam cheap ATM. But its up to you if you want to wait. MAbe 1 x 6800GT would be good for the long run but i know a single 6600GT plays everygame out there perfectly.

Oh also... They sell 6800Gt's for 249 Euro now on http://jes.de Which is VERY cheap, IF thats any intrest to you.

your 4 drives, were they bought together? If so, they may have been part of a faulty batch. I have to say that any IBM/hitachi drives I've ever had never gave problems.

Why oh why would you buy 2 x 6600GT ??????????????

The whole point of SLI is so that you can upgrade in the future. Buy one 6800GT, itll be just as fast (much faster in a lot of things) and youll be able to upgrade a lot more easily in the future.

hungryjoey when posting links to komplett make sure to log out, i think thats why you get that edit shopping list page, also as said you'll be far better off with one 6800gt than two 6600's

Nope, 2 drives bought together...both failed
    Both replacements failed also

I wouldn't mind but they had drive coolers, at the timeit was a known issue with most of the Deathstar series of drives

Early tests show that you need EXACT copies to do Nvidia SLI. Same BIOS versions and everything.

But don't forget that if you have a 6600GT, 6800GT or a 6800 Ultra card that you need to get exactly the same brand and the card with the same BIOS. This may be very hard to do in six to eight months' time.

"NVIDIA's SLI falls down here because it demands an absolutely identical second card."
    http://graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/20050602/ati_crossfire-07.html#update

Buy the 6800, leave SLI/Crossfire to the early adopters in this generation of mobo.

Between me and my brother we had 5 Deskstars die. One is still going strong in my Xbox.

Well i would like a 6600GT SLI Setup but go for a 6800GT then or X800XL as you 1st suggsted. Fair bit of choice out there.

And as far as Hitachi Deskstar's... I think there amazing, Suxx to hear so many died but first i have heard.
