Common Injuries and Complaints.

    Hi all,

As a fitness instructor and Acupuncurist I find that there has been an increase in injuries relating to the physical fitness field. In fact a larger percentage of my clients are now being derived from those rehabing from injury. These range from common complaints such as tennis elbow, bad knee's, frozen shoulders, Achilles tendon strains ect to rarer injuries.

The upsetting thing is for the most part these injuries can be completely avoided and when they do occur simple treatments can be applied which could save a lot of poeple time, grief and money.

Anyways, I'm hoping to publish a series of articles and depending on response a book or two on common injuries and treatments. I've gone over the previous threads and noted the frequency and type of injuries treatments and so forth.

However I was hoping that I might bug the collective board in to just briefly mentioning the most common problems they have found in their own carrers brief notes on how they were resolved and any additional thoughts or feelings on the matter.

If moderators feel this is inappropriate I apologize and by all means deleate the post. However I feel is would be useful for the general communtiy to have this sort of thing looked at and analysed. Obviously anyone who responds will get a copy of the treatment plan etc regarding their injuries should they want it.

    Thanks to everyone,

    Boru.

Ps anyone who requested a copy of the HRM training guide and hasn't recieved a copy Pm and I'll forward it to you!

    Good idea Boru..

I come from a family of bad knee owners. So.. unsurprisingly at 24, I havent been able to train properly due to burning sharp pain under my kneecap. Ive had physio, been to the doc, and had an arthroscopy which came back clear so it seems Im looking at a quad issue.

If I stand on the bad leg and bend my knee, the pain is baaad and sharp right under the kneecap.

I havent found a proper physio in the Waterford area who I felt knew exactly what the specific problem was. (Although there was 1 who wasnt so bad, but the sessions were far too short).

Ive still got the problem, and Im trying to solve it by doing basic quad exercises, and Im starting a glorious cycling regime next week (when the bike arrives in the shop).

Fair play to ya.. and Id be delighted with any more advice you could give me! Especially if you might tell me who's good in Waterford!
