How's your post these days?

[Apologies to mods if this is out ofplace, but can't think where else it should be]

I'm convinced our postie is only delivering to our estate every couple of days.. I got five packages off him last week, three posted from the UK, one from Hong Kong (3 days later than I expected, from CDWOW), and one from Malaysia. All were sent days apart, very strange that they all arrived the same day.

Anyway, I was mid-shave when he rang the bell,I came down the stairs and said:

Me: Ah you've just caught me shaving, I haven't shaved in three months.

He misheard me I presume, thinking I'd said I've been waiting 3 months, so started to say:

Him: Ah sorry bud, they won't pay us the overtime and we're run off our feet so we are...

Since then I've gone 2/3 days with no post, then a delivery of 2/3 letters. Seems like too much of a coincidence to me, I've said it to my sister and she says she only gets post every second day.

Anyone else experience this?

Yeah, so did I until I moved to Swords. I'm in one of the last few houses in my development, thats part of a much bigger estate. The houses either side of me are still empty (actually, at least 6 out of the 12 on my row are), so maybe they're just saving themselves the walk for 1 or 2 letters?

I know our postman delivers everyday to our block of flats, yet all my letters arrive in clumps. I rarely seem to get an individual letter.

Our postman delivers something to us nearly everyday but what annoys me is the time it arrives at. The post used to arrive at almost exactly 7.30am on the button, but in the last couple of years it's changed and we're lucky if we get something before 2pm and some days it hasn't arrived until after 4.

This is especially annoying if you're waiting for something that you need in the morning not late evening.

My post arrives at 9:07 every morning, without fail. But that's because I live in England and us Brits know how to get things done(!).

an post is gone to fcuk ive been waiting for 2 packages from the uk that were posted 2 weeks ago, feckin shams, and we pay for the service as regards delivery schedules etc i think they just suit themselves as regards when they deliver your post :mad:

I'm pretty sure I'm only getting my post every second day too.

Also some times I'll get packages that were sent to me on completely different dates from completely different countries and they end up in my letter box strapped together with a rubber band.

I must say the amount of internet orders these days must make the mail bags pretty heavy. They should have those little mail bags on wheels that you see in US television and movies.

my postman comes everyday. i did order something from england though and it took 4 weeks to arrive. sds came with it and i said to the guy that i had ordered it 4 weeks ago. he told me that the seller hadnt posted it when he said he did so i looked at the stamp and sure enough he had posted it when he said. i also told him how i had contacted the seller who in turn contacted royal mail and had confirmation from them that it had been passed on to an post after 4 days!!! i couldnt believe it, an post are a joke. another thing, i know a guy who use to work in one of the main sorting offices and he told me stories of how in the toilets there would be mail blocking them from guys opening letters. anything that looked like a card would be opened with the hope of finding money.

Sounds like a GLS problem. They deliver all the packages for Parcel Force over here.

I had a registered package (graphics card) posted to me on the 15th, from Blanchardstown. Using the online tracking system on http://www.sds.ie , I see it was 'sent out for delivery' from Fairview on the 16th

- except of course it wasn't.

Nor was it sent out on the 17th.

I did see our postman earlier, but all that he was delivering was junk mail for Fáilte Ireland, and he did not appear to have his usual bag with him at all.

I rang Fairview to see what the story is, to be told my package is there, and since I cannot make it up to collect it myself, I will have it Monday.

I have had packages delivered from Australia within four days.

Our postman comes everyday, but I'm sure he hates my house. I order loads of packets/packages...

I'm waiting on my exam results to be posted. They were sent out on Wednesday , thought i would have had them by now!

our postman doesn't deliver if the dog is around because he think's she's vicious. she loves everyone except the postman... obviously she knows something we don't!
and I've been waiting on a small package from the US for a couple of weeks now...

post in ireland sucks. i posted something to greece a few weeks ago through swiftpost 3 day delivery. they forgot to put it on the plane then lost it for a few days and it eventually arrived after 17 days, only 2 weeks slower than it should have been.

We used to have this guy that my female neighbours thought was great looking and used to answer the door to him and watch him away... now we have a ghost deliver our mail... we NEVER see him, its like magic, but 3 days late.

Our dude is daily but a little unprdictable usualy, anywhere from 9.30 to 11.30am. I bet he hates me as I get loads of signed for packages from the UK.
