    Hi,
I'm just checking to see from PSP owners what can actually be done on them outside playing games and watching UMD's? I know you can listen to MP3s and stuff but with the WiFi and memory card etc. what else can be done? Can you download programmes to run on the PSP and things along those lines?

    Cheers for any help...

You can use MSN messenger as long as you have Wipeout Pure, and then you have to fiddle around with it a bit afaik.

A gig. You get a 32mb card but it's far too small. Shell out for the gig.

There is no actual client for it, it is just accessed via the MSN web interface which as qz mentioned you will need to have wipeout pure (or derby time)

how much is it? around €150 or something? fairly pricey though. can I put any sort of film files from my laptop and stuff onto the memory card and watch say a wmv. on the psp? that would be savage

No you get a sofware called psp video 9 and it will convert most video types for yuo and transfer them onto the memory card

The emulators at the moment are very slow. No games run perfectly. The best snes emulator has sound but games are unplayable. The mega drive one has no sound and is unplayable. The code will be optimised in time.

Afaik you can't run MSN messenger but there definitley is an MSN webpage!

You should get Wipeout, besides it being the ideal game for internet browsing, the game itself actually rocks!

Ok, regarding the emus on the psp, the megadrive and snes ones work just fine and are updated regularly, sometimes you may need to switch off the sound or introduce some framerate skipping to make it all work at the right speed but overall its not bad, kinda similar to the emu scene circa '97, so be assured the flaws will be ironed out.
The Snes and Megadrive are on my mem card now and I am playing ChronoTrigger, PuzzleBobble, Thunderforce IV and Sonic3, amongst others. The NES emu is working perfectly so you can have Mario Bros. 1,2,3 and Kirby to mention but a few.
The machine is doing really well in the homebrew scene, the only small problem is the price of the media, although a 256mb card costs about 70 while a Gig card from Britain is around €120 if you shop around.
