    Thanks for that Victor.

    R E M @ Ardgillan Castle – Sunday 19th June
First Bus will depart at 2pm with buses every 20 minutes until 6pm
Departure point: - Parnell Square West

    Cost: - €15.00

Looks good. Now if they'd just tell us how to get back to civilisation we'd have an almost acceptable transport system (for the day) ....

    Dublin Bus 33 A
    Dublin Bus 33
    Bus Eireann 100
    Bus Eireann 101
    Irish Rail Northern Line

...or of course you could just go back to where the bus dropped you off

...or of course even better...... don't bother leaving your "civilisation"

Too late. I've already got the tickets. So I guess I'll head north and see how you manage without 24 hour service stations. :D

ah , but there's no mention of the spl bus service actually hanging around. So to get home would probably take as long as going around the sun. We all know what an efficient service Dublin Bus runs these days, so I can't trust them to be there any more than I can expect to meet the man on the moon. Anyway, trying to squeeze onto one of those things just ensures that everybody hurts and we'd probably have to stand. Knowing my luck someone would probably fall on me and while you might find that funny I wouldn't be laughing. Perfect way to start a bad day. Anyway, using public transport is awkward and with just one bus I can't get there from here. And if we ran out of time we'd miss the bus back.

So to ensure I arrive at my most beautiful, I believe I'll take the car as close to Ardgillan castle as I can, and pay some farmer-type an extortionate amount of money to park in the west of the fields. Having said that, the one I love and all the right friends are going so it'll be cheaper than taking the bus or getting a high speed train. So unless he's also an auctioneer the five of us should do better than €75.

To have to stop in the city centre on the way home would be as crazy as gardening at night, and sometimes the routes those buses take means we'd be quicker going all the way to reno or travelling half a world away and back. Anyway it's not as if taking the car and walking a bit will be the end of the world as we know it and as it's a free world baby, I'll drive, and we'll all be shiny happy people at the end of the day.
