Guitar Tuners for the PC

    Anyone know of any decent freeware tuners.

    i don't know it this is what you'd be looking for but a program called Power tab editor ( http://www.power-tab.net/ ) has in it's settings (toolbar >> guitar >> setup) a tuner.

    Ones that you plug the guitar into the sound card and it displays the note or one that plays a note and you tune to it? If it's the latter, I recommend Guitar Pro

    True but it works for what is required. Search on Download.com and you'll find some.

    aha, but it is shareware, that never runs out! Mine is now 560 days over the demo day and stil lworks like a charm.

    At the moment I've only got an acoustic, no pickup.

    Therefore my suggestion would be accurate.

    For future reference, a simple PC microphone would serve for tuning too.

    So this shareware app and a mic. Ok I'll give it a go. Only need a reference.

    I've been using APTuner for a while it is pretty good - u need a mic http://www.aptuner.com/aptunerMain.jpg
