Hi all. I am fairly new to the game of poker (texas hold- em) and a few of my regular friends that play with me are chipping in for the best set of chips we can get our hands on. Anyone have any idea where i can look. ( does the weight of the chip matter ect...... I live in Galway if its not an online shop. Thanks a million.

Ebay have alot of chips. Other than that specialdays.ie have both composite and ceramic chips and afaik they deliver to anywhere in Ireland. If you're looking for the best chips I'd suggest 13.5g clay ones.

I do know that there is a shop called Gamers Realm in the Corn Store on Middle street in Galway that sells poker sets and accessories at very good prices. It's close to Charlie Byrnes bookstore.

why would you think that the 11.5 gram are better than the 13.5

afaik thats what we use in the casinos. not too light, not too heavy

I used to play dice with my brothers (some years ago).
We used to pay 2 rolls each, 5 dice, highest hand wins the pot.
Houses and trips were the norm.

I hae to say that I dealt with full house poker chips and found them good.
There is a tread somewhere where he was giving a discount to boards people.

We're clearing out the 300 chip sets from next week in Special Days - website should be updated on Monday. - Click the new "Special Offer" link.

300 5g plastic will be €29 (lightweight - ideal for travelling / holidays)
    300 11.5g resin composite will be €49
    300 13.5g clay will be €59
300 9g "Royal flush" / "vegas" numbered clay chips will be €69
All include the usual cards, dice & case.

We simply have a lot of 300 sets and as people now prefer 400 / 500 we are discontinuing the 300 ones.
