Advice On Tongue

i no there are threads out there on tongue piercings...but wanted to start a new one, sorry mods if u dont like this
rite.....im getting my tongue pierced..
whats the story with the vein issue does anyone know????
anyone suggest a good piercer and where?????
im not asking is it sore.........compare it to a lobe piercing and a belly button???
did it swell much????
did you get a lisp??/
any problems with teeth gums????
im really terrified getting this done...but iv been fascinated with it for bout 5 years and finally got the courage....

the vain in the middle of my tongue as far as i know is never a problem(so i hav been told)the piercer just does it at a slight slant.
I done alot of research in to where to go and i think celestial ring is "one" of the best around. my cuz got hers done there and had no problems..also snakebite and bodyshock are good but i just like celestial ring better......
cant compare it to anything for ya cause its my first piercing!! i know.......why the tongue first but i never wanted to get anywhere els done??
i think all do swell somewhat but this can be reduced by sucking LOTS of ice and drinking gallons of water. im also going to start a dose of "Arnica" and "zinc" tablets cause i have heard that these help healing greatly..
i'd say u get a lisp for a few days till u get used to it but my cuz didnt get a list from hers?also i'd say it is eaiser to talk when u get the barbell reduced to a smaller size.
i rang up one of the piercing parlors and they said "bla bla bla and it costs €60 in jewellery that DOESNT BREAK YR TEETH?? so i guess there is some jewellery that u can get to help not break yr teeth..

getting it done the day after my leaving cert finishes!!! the 22nd!! want it healed for my hol on the 15th july!!!crete here i cum!!!
ye i went into snakebite n dey gave me a list of things to follow! no solid food for 2 weeks......ill fade away into nothing!!! love my dinners
i nearly fainted after getting my belly done..had to sit me down on a chair and make me drink coke!!! i dont like coke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
me and my mate are going in to get it done together...and another two are cuming aswell to get their bellys done!!
once it doesnt hurt as much as my belly did i dont mind!
i went to miss.fantasias aswell...and they numb ur tongue first?!?!?! my mates didnt feel ANYTHING!!!! apart from the pressure of the needle goin in!!

i hav it done its not sore at all at all da bellybuton n all r sorer da only prob is da swelling for like 5 days after jus eat icecream n soup n ur grand!!

don't worry, just stop thinking about it and go get it done./..it's not sore at all...it will swell for a couple of days alright...i was able to eat solid food well within a week of getting it done, just eat loads of ice to reduce swelling....it heals pretty quickly too...no need to worry...
i don't know why anyone would take zinc tablets to try and heal it, it really doesn't take that long to heal and you'll be used to it in your mouth within 2 weeks...

AFAIK, If theirs a vein running down the centre of you're tongue you can't get it pierced.

Don't have my belly button pierced, but, IMO, it's nothing compared to a lobe piercing.

Mine swelled quite a bit. It depends on the person how much it swells and for how long. After a week Mine was back to normal.

While it was swollen, I had a lisp, but once the swelling went down it was fine.

sorry but that is not true!!! my cuz had a big vain down the center of hers and they just did it a a slight slant but u cant even notice that it is at a slant.
also i rang snakebite and asked bout the vain cause i have a vain too and they said that it is never a problem.

I fyou have a vein in your tongue you can't get it pierced??thats the most stupidest thing I've ever heard...I hate to tell you...but everyone has a vein their tongue!!!quite a few actually! :rolleyes: some peoples are just more visible then others...some people cn't get their tongues pierced, if their tongue web is too big and is near the tip of te tongue...thats about it...!

most people's web is fine...it's only the odd few people's that get in the way...failing that you can always et that pierced...its one of my fav piercings...you should be able to tell yourself...just look under your tongue...if it stretches out to far its not good!!!

Yay! Congrats. Maybe yours won't swell at all, I only stayed off solids a few hours, but it's so much fun at the start, now that I've a smaller one I don't even notice it though. Try not to play with it too much for your teeth's sake!!

omg it better not be! ah well wats a bit of pain!!no i have heard of a few ppl getting it done and they had no swelling at all. going in on sun to celestial ring.......hope they will do it for me.MM was my next option but i dont think so after reading the other thread bout it??!!
im really hoping i will not hav much swelling when i get done cause im in work on monday....its only a art center but i still dont want all the kids going "why are u talking like that........." eh ya i just bit my tongue!!!!

hey guys.....after wat 2 months of me waiting for my parents to go away...there finally gone and i went to celestial ring to day to get it done but,they said i needed a parent consent which is fine i could of just let them ring my sis but i had already told them that my parents were out of the country so if i just gave my sisters number they would notice cause it would hav no prefix or anything etc etc etc....
but i went to miss fantaisa instead and it was so funny cause its a adult shop (for those that dont know) and yr man was like em excuse me can i see yr id's and my sis was like oh were just here to get pierced and yr man goes for ur tongue u hav to be 18 and i said he could ring my parents and he said fine since yr wit yr sis its gud enough so here i am with my tongue pierced!!

any1 thinking of getting it done....go go go. its not sore at all(seriously im not 1 for pain so if it hurt i would say!!)

thanks...im so glad that i went through wit it. i was sitting in the chair going omg that the **** am i doing! then i looked in the mirror and i was like oh **** im going to get killed when my parents see it.... oh well!
