Tennis Shoes (KSwiss V Nike)

I picked up a pair of Addidas ClimaCool (or something similar) and I find that I'm getting wicked pains up the calves and "shin splints" like no ones business. I play on tarmac and astro. I had a pair of Wilsons before and never had this much of a problem.

So I guess my lesson is for tennis, you must buy proper tennis shoes. I thought these running shoes would do fine. So I went looking at tennis-warehouse.com and found two that I'm interested. One recommended to me, and the other with the best scores I could find on the site.

    K-Swiss Ultrascendor Mid Shoe @ $79.95

    or

Nike Air Max Breathe Free II @ $110.00

Has anyone had any experiences with any of the K-Swiss range? Should I go the extra money for the Nike. The Nike *does* have that ventilation thing going - which I found excellent in my Addidas's, given I sweat like a prize pig.

I sweat more with the Air Max Breathe! The other shoes look okay, but they don't look like they would stand the test of time. I wouldn't buy tennis shoes without first trying them on. Once you have done that have a look online, if they are cheaper, go for it.

I went with the KSwiss, but bought in a shop in Cork. Turns out they have poor arch support for someone like me, but with an insert they played nice and comfy, even on tarmac.
