Just ordered an X800XL gfx card from komplett only to realise i only have a 300 watt power supply unit in my pc.
    IS this an issue?
Its just one review i read said it needs 350 watt supply?

i heard at least 350w but preferably 400, a lot depends on how many peripherals are attached to your psu too though. ive a 480w myself with x800pro no problems whatsoever

You'd be best off buying at least a 400w power supply, especially if it *needs* 350w, give you a bit of room to maneouver.

At least a good quality 400W would be advisable. Something by Antec, Zalman, Enermax, Fortron, Coolermaster, Tagan, Globalwin or OCZ would be best choices, but Hiper, Akasa, Chieftec, Thermaltake, and Jeantech also make pretty decent power supplies. The one brand that most anyone on here will tell you to steer well clear of is Qtec. To say that Qtec's wattage rating system is equal to contents of the male bovine rectum would be an understatement. Some review site measured the actual max load capabilty of a Qtec '550W' PSU a while back and found that it in reality could barely supply 285W.
You've invested in a nice gfx card, now give it the juice it deserves!

Yeah, it's as easy as pie. Just a bit time consuming to get the cables in place.

What brand is your current 300w PSU ? What powersupply do you have ?

If its a Fortron / Sparkle and your processor isnt a beast youd be fine.

    PSU is an Antec 300w.
    CPU is P4 2.8 800fsb.
I took a trip to PC world to see what they have as i took DHL 1-2 day delivery for gfx card so im expecting before weekend and didnt want to wait and have to order a psu online.
I picked up a Jeantech 500w psu for 69 yoyos which i thought was ok as i priced them on elara and they were over 100 yoyos.
Was a bitch to fit the psu ,room wise in the antec case ,i think i got all cables connected properly :)
    Shes running anyways:)
