Question about voltage

I'm buying a turntable from america and the guy who I am plannin to buy i off says that it is meant for 110volts or something. And I think that Ireland is 220 volts (am I right?)
So basically what i'm asking is (i) What will happen if i just use it the way it is in ireland and (ii) is there any converter to get so that it will work properly?
Any advice is greatly appreciated

You're right. Or close enough that it doesn't matter.

You need a power converter thingy. Like the ones shown here

Problem is the above don't have UK/Irish plugs on them. You'd need to either use a plug converter (cheap and easy to find) or rewire a normal plug onto them (again cheap but requires you knowing what to do (it isn't hard really)).

Or one of these. More expensive but would suit your needs perfectly.

I'm also moving this from physics to somewhere where it'll get more answers Hmm, two secs, I'll have to ask around to find the right forum for this actually. I don't see an obvious one to move it into
