Tax In USA?

    Quicky question... my brother just got offered a job in Washington, $30,000. Whats the breakdown of tax over there? What can he expect to get in his bank account every month after deductions (roughly!)?

    The tax system is broken into three taxable categories....

    firstly you have a deductible you make up to 4,500 without being taxed at all.

    then there are there different systems that tax you

    1. Federal Government
    2. State Government
    3. City Tax (this one I think only applies in New York, may be a couple other large cities.)

    I haven't lived there in a couple years so you got me as to what the precentages are, each state is different tax rate. Federal is obviously same for everyone.

    But I will stop talking now since you already replied saying you found a caculator online!
