The Cat is out of the bag now! :-)

Colm , Matt said its all right in lethal situations to bite....Yipee I feel vindicated!

Seriously, its a great article on SBG Vs RBSD debate. he articulates his points very well.

and not all RBSD people are Parinoid , Psychos either! (well we all cant be tarred with the Sammy Franco brush!)

Looking forward to reading more of his stuff.

Matt is soooooooo tall. I'm short but damn, he's near 7 feet tall. I felt like I had no legs standing next to him. Even my boy Shane who's 6'4" was dwarfed by him. Anyways, Matt has the right idea and did so before this whole resistance training became popular.

Aye and he shoots fireballs from his eyes!!
...and did so before this whole resistance training became popular.

resistance/functional training has been going on forever (wrestling, muay thai, judo etc etc)- what matt has been successful at is awakening those who have fallen into the matrix of image orientated non functional training (only those whose ego is ready to be awakened of course). i came from that background of classical mess so it was a message i needed to hear but in the beginning when i spoke to people from judo/boxing etc about Aliveness, resistance training they looked at me funny with a 'yeah, of course' look. its those still in the matrix that are either confused, angered or very happy to hear it - depending on where there ego is at

best explained on this 13Mb clip

Haha, when I saw the picture of you and Liam with him, I was like Damn. JK & Liam are tiny, but then I seen Matt. I bet he could triangle choke 5 men in one go.

That clip is good but in cannot hear it as no speakers on office PC (have at home). sometimes with no volume it makes you look at the moves more and think more.

anyway...that first clip looks very much like a JKD drill (aka vunak and stuff ive seen he does) then doing the same with the gloves and head gear and actually going for it....ok is that more ALIVE? I think I am beginning to see the point?

    The clip explains aliveness.

In the first scenario, it shows a pre-made pattern against someone who is not resisting. The second clip shows the same pattern against someone who resists.. Matt explains that although this may not look "pretty", it's functional.

This applys for all the clips. He will show the dead pattern and then the alive clip which shows the drill with a resisting partner. Aliveness shows what is functional and what is not. It gets you used to working with someone who would resist you in a non-training situation. I believe that is the main point.

Yes I sort of figured that without the sound. I will listen and watch again tonight.

Got lots of Geoff Thompson vids at home. Inthe 3 Second Fighter vid. his guys go from strinking to ground. and its totally alive.

After Geoff said. "it looks scruffy does n't it. but if you know what the guys are doing and how their training...its beautiful".

Right now we're getting places! :-)
