Laptop Repairs?

    Hi,
    I've managed to break a usb port off my Dell inspiration (yep...physically popped out).

    Anyone have recommendations for a repair shop??? I've stripped it down and I don't recon my soldering skills are good enough to do a cowboy job on it.

    Yeah dont go near it yourself I messed up my 1500euro Apple Powerbook doing that. Goto ItDirect in town they'll piont ya in the right direction

    It's not still under warranty is it? Presumably you did something to pull it out but they're not really intended to pop out so they should do something for you assuming you did no more than pull a cable out of the port before it decided to make a break for freedom. I sent a machine back for repair when the PC card cover came off and there wasn't any issue with that as it was still within the year.

    No not under warranty... a few years old..plus it's probably caused by using it on my lap with dongle sticking out the back!!
