it appears that 24 has been signed up for another season
with the only characyers confirmed at the moment being Jack and Chloe, just wondering if it is going to take a completely different route with jack no longer working for the government but using chloe as a means of information while he embarks on some maverick journey over the space of 1 day

just wondering if 24 fans would like to see a deviation of the current format, or has it worked well for 4 seasons and feck it keep it for a fifth.

I have strong hopes for Day 5 now that David Fury and Manny Coto are exec producers.

I saw a bit of season 1 on BBC1 on Friday - the look and pace of the show looked very different, the old CTU looked more like an office and Jack asked Mason if he wanted coffee!

Ok im not reasing the spoilers so please dont wreck it for me (and thanks for having the consideration to use the spoiler tag:D)

But in the next days i want to see a new main character maybe bring Chase back, that way we can also see Elisha Cuthbert again. *drools all over the keyboard*

you want Elisha...rent The girl next door (which was actually funny and she looks really hot in it) or go see house of wax, which looks terrible but again she is hot and you apparantly get to see paris hilton die which would be worth the ticket price alone! but for the love of God do not bring her back on 24! I was so fed up of her getting kidnapped every damn season!,sometimes twice a season!

yeah jacks family are a complete disaster when it comes to 24, like how much trouble can one family get into. i dont think chase will be back as he got gimped in season 3, but definitely i think there is a change of tack ahead.....

I really hope it's not another chemical/nuclear attack (ie. season 2/3/4) it's been done to death.. I just finished watching season 1 again and think it was the best of the 4.. The last episode was the best ever episode of 24..

Anyway season 5.. I would love if they did something different.. like an alien invasion or something.. just can't see it happening though

Wow, thats a cool idea.... I'd love to see that. Its no more far fetched than season 4, with Marwans 15 backup plans (just in case...)

I was totally disappointed by season 4

Still haven't got into it, try when RTE started showing it but blah blah.

The characters where just to hard to look at.

Chloe and Edgar  in particular.

And you missed the cast of the orginal 3 series, I know they come back during day 4 but only so much can happen in one day.

Too much was happening in Day 4 it is just to unbeleivable, would anyone recommend DAY 4 to me?

Honestly I enjoyed the first,maybe,10 eps with the Araz storyline, they thought they were all interesting and good, but then the rest was just crap.

I think you've hit the nail on head there, Elmo. The past two seasons it seems as if the writers have been trying to cram each episode with as much action as possible. It just seems to have been constant, almost non-stop Crash, Bang, Wallop action. As a result they end up using up all the "action" really fast, so to speak, and therefore end up finishing up one storyline really quickly and having to start another one. In the past two series' how many dfferent storylines have we seen cropping up? Loads! Compare that to the first two series' where there seems to have been a pretty distinct two storylines (with minor deviations here and there......... Kim and mountain lions come to mind! :D ), each one splitting each series neatly into two 12 hour chunks. I would like to see the writers go back to the style of the first two series for series 5 - less action (but when it comes, it really counts!), more "breathers", so to speak, between the action giving both the audience a chance to catch their breath but also giving the chance for a little more character development and to see more interaction on a personal level between the characters.

Watching the first series on BBC there on Friday night, I couldn't believe I actually saw Jack eating (and Nina and Tony were also having lunch at one stage as well)! That's something you certainly wouldn't see in the past couple of series', the characters are too busy all the time. And, you know what? It made a huge difference. Something as simple as that. Having a break in the action and seeing the characters doing something everyday like eating lunch makes a big difference to the flow and feel of the show, in my opinion. I think, as I said, the writers need to look backwards in order to look forwards when they go about writing the next series.

I look forward to the day when Jack turns to someone and says, "Hang on there 10 minutes, will you? I just need to go to the bathroom. I've been on the go for the past 16 hours and I'm dying for a sh!te!" :D
