I have a motorbike but it doesn't run properly since I put more petrol in the tank. It worked fine with the petrol that was in the tank when I bought it. Any suggestions?

Dude, you need to find a set of strings that sounds good to your ears. If you don't know what to try, buy a different brand each time you need a set of strings until you find one type that you like. Everyone's got their own preferences for their own guitars but each guitar is unique, as will be your own preference. I use Martin Phospor Bronze 12's on my acoustics (and I'm now trying out some very cheap webstrings.com sets with good results) but they won't suit everyone elses tastes/guitar. I'll tell you what, to get the ball rolling, PM me with your address down in Sligeach and I'll post a set of these webstrings down to you to try out - Free of charge. If you like 'em, they're only €2.60 per set for 10 sets....

Okay, chances are you're using a different gauge set to what the guitar was originally set up to use. A fairly normal effect of this is that the strings will put more or less tension on the neck. Unless there is a double truss rod on the crafter (unlikely, 2 friends had basic crafters and these didn't) you'll need to adjust the neck to compensate for the new gauge you're using. If you don't, you'll probably have an increased string height above the fretboard which will certainly make it more difficult to play. If you're not sure about the procedure for adjusting the truss rod, drop in to a guitar shop and ask them to teach you how to do it. They probably won't charge you for the pleasure either - Particularly if they know you and you buy your strings and things there. That's one advantage of shopping locally instead of over the web I guess.

Anyway, anyone else have anything to add?

check the guitars website, most manufacturers put specific strings on their guitars when made, so check the site to see what strings it comes with, then buy the strings.

I like them, however they're spelled. They suit my guitar anyway. Would be my first choice after Elixirs.

What gauge strings are you playing at the moment? If you really liked the way the guitar was, you need to figure out what gauge of strings it had. Otherwise just get it set up for whatever you normally use.
