    Hey,

I was just wondering if there was any freeware programs around that let you use your dvd able to play any region.
Ya know the way some dvd-roms only allow you to change the setting 4/5times.
I used a program there last night that worked but I was wondering if there are any freeware programs anybody knows about?

(I also done want to start messing around with firmware or anything)

    Thanks

Don't worry about the firmware upgrade. Just go to a site where you've read other people have used it before you!
Post your model number up here and somebody might already have tried it successfully.

Before I flashed I used to copy DVDs to my drive using DVD decrypter which could read any disc.

Has anybody here every broken a CD/DVD drive by flashing?

Stop using the crappy DVD player app your drive came with

Then start using Videolan - its free, and completely and utterly -ignores- regions. It also plays nearly all other media files you throw at it, and has a Mozilla plugin

http://www.videolan.org for Windows, OSX, Linux, BeOS and other generic X11 UNIX systems. And Windows palmtops...

    www.rpc1.org

Look up you drive and flash the drive with a region free firmware.

(Will void warranty if you give a toss about it)
