Ok heres the little situation i have,

Im gettin 2 dimarzio pickups and a podxt

and im trying to decide which is cheaper music123 or thomann to get them here,

    Music123

Its $467.93 for the podxt and the 2 pickups - (the pickups are red f spaced and in stock, (on thomann, i dont think they have a range of colours, im waiting for an email to see) + 4 sure-lock straps which i only seen on music 123 (adding 40$ onto the cost)

    the shipping costs are $80.00

so the toal is $547.93 so in euro's it is 448.53 EUR

What will it cost when i recieve the items at my door? how much extra will it be? for the import tax??

    Thomann

Theres the podxt and the 2 pickups for 525.00 EUR but its not the colours im looking for.... I asked in an email but didnt get a reply yet.. ( i didnt get the shipping costs for thomann but i persume its around 20 EUR (+ theres no straplocks)

so the total for thomann are 545.00

i thought id explain the whole situation to make it easier... But yeah the Q is anyways Is it considerably cheaper to get it off music123? it looks like it, but How much extra would be added on when the goods enter the country from music123?

might not get caught with a fee just would be waiting a lot longer...thats howits been from my experience of US shopping

I think a small package is more likely to get by without paying tax but if it did get into the system it would be 21% VAT plus 3 or 4 % duty (3.7% for electric guitars per the stickie) and they would charge that on the shipping as well.
If your paying USD 80 shipping for a smallish package it should be fairly fast or if not why not?

I dont think a podxt from America will work over here straight outta the box, so you might wanna factor that into the costs aswell!

Thomann's email i jus got there...

    Hi Al,
    thanks for your mail.

The delivery time would be around 8-10 weeks. There`s no money back on these because it would be a special order.

    best regards

So its lookin like music123, And i forgot about the power thing, anyone got any soloutions for that problem¿?

Yup, buy a line6 european AC adapter that will cost you like loads for one with an UK plug. My one worked out at €40 when i was buying one.

Musicians Inc in town do them for 25 euro. i had to buy one for my BodXT, and it works fine. Just make sure you explain it clearly to them. i walked out of the shop with the wrong one twice :p

Ok so to power the pod, Its just a simple ac adapter connection rite? jus like powering a pedal...

Does it have to be a specific one? or a line6 one...

so i want the uk version of this - http://www.music123.com/Line-6-PX2-Power-Adaptor-i118355.music

    EDIT: late reply...

Thx for the quick replies... So ill get the equipment on m123 and the adapter in musician...

    :)

Has to be 9v AC (ie, not DC) 2000mA

-=al=-, import taxes have been discussed countless times before. Read the Charter to find details on import taxes in future.

I'd go with Thomann, I've heard dodgy things about music123. Be warned!

No thats a DC adapter, you need AC

Plus, I'd play it safe and just stick with the Line 6 official adapter. Ya know just in case.
