Amazon.com is great for bargains. Ideal if you know someone in the US that you can get it posted to.

7DayShop.com is based in Jersey (UK) and has reasonable prices. I bought a digital SLR there recently. It was the best price I could find and get it shipped to me in the required timeframe. The name is slightly deceptive - they certainly don't process your order over the weekend. Were a bit slow to ship my order (close to a week) but price (and availablilty) were big factors when I decided on 7DayShop over Amazon.co.uk.

The best site in the states is www.bhphotovideo.com. Have spent a small fortune there

If customs catch your camera coming from outside the EU they will rape you for VAT and duty. Order from Europe or collect personally from abroad (and mail the packaging and receipts home ie. don't carry them in your luggage). Search this forum for cheap British and German sites.

get caught or not still cheaper than here...don't get it delivered via ups or fed ex they charge you the customs chrges on the revenues behalf...or via global express mail 50/50 chance of getting away with custom charges, and if you do get caught you will pay 5% - 6% duty charge and 21%vat on top...with all that its still cheaper than here and any europen websites

Actually he is right bought a lens from B and H customs nabbed it made me pay €100. Still cheaper than Ireland but nasty all the same. I think the lens cost $300 and customs added another €140 to the price.

still works out at €970euro & BTW switzerland are not in the EU so add 21% VAT & Duty,.. :(
tryhere first their total shipped price for a 2 lens kit is €950 . :)
    or here
for the 2 lens kit + battery grip price €1093,..which knocks €270 off the pixmania price, it's best to just forget about any outlet in Ireland

    Also good prices at www.nomatica.ie
French based company, so VAT is already included

I bought a EOS 300D when it first came out from Germany, it was the best price I could find in Europe and worked out cheaper than US+shipping+VAT+duty (and far less hassle). Searched on www.kelkoo.de to find the best price. German companies I have bought from include www.hificomponents.de (also do cameras, generally a very good price) and www.worldtronix.com (where I got the 300D).

Edit: I've bought cheaper cameras from Pixmania, they are excellent on these (and have cheap+fast delivery) but not so good on the more expensive ones, where there will generally be a German site offering it at a much lower price (but with relatively expensive delivery.)

Anyone have any info on those sigma lenses, how fast are they?

EDIT: Ah just found it : 3,5-5,6 for the 18-50 / 4-5,6 for the 55-200
    here

To be honest, you should look at the Nikon D70 instead. You can flash the firmware up to D70s version and thus save ~€300.
Get it with a Nikkor f3.5 17 - 200 instead of the 2 Sigmas that come with the Canon. Sigmas are OK, but don't really compare to Nikkor or Canon glass.
