Shift allowance? standards

I currently work 9 hour shifts ranging from
7am - 4pm and 3pm - 12 midnight this involves many shifts but more lates than earlys.

Previously it the shifts were 7am - 4pm and 2pm - 11pm this changed recently when they introduced the 3pm - midnight shift mentioned above.

We weren’t asked if we' work till 12midnight we were told, so we kicked up a fuss and they assured us that we would get a 20% shift allowance rather than 16% which we were on to work till midnight. So we accepted the terms and started our ****ty new shift.

We just received e-mail communication to tell us we are only entitled to a 16% shift allowance.

So basically they added an extra late shift and got us to accept it by putting a carrot in front of our nose, we got the carrot for 2 months and now there taking it away.

The pay factor is relativly minor its more the fact of being duped into doing them a huge favor for nothing.

Does anyone have any figures on industry standard shift allowances?
