Loading BIG graphics... ideas?

    Lads.. a wee test for loading a big graphic..
    using slices..

    thoughts and opinions? or is it just as handy to have the big graphic.. but peeps dont see anything for ages.. etc.. etc..
    brainstormin' needed lads.. and/or a few ideas..

    You just had to show off that pic didnt ye:P
    Tbh I'm pretty sure it would have loaded up faster for me if it wasn't sliced, took bloody ages.

    Just remember, you're not just loading in the slices... that's a seperate image tag for each one, and the user would need to download each and every one. And if it's a gif, thats a seperate palette for each pic.

    You're probably better of doing some decent compression and then having one image.

    It rained in San Francisco Wednesday evening, but the penguins were
    still there Thursday morning, smiling broadly.
