I was told that the gardai hold sales / auctions (don't know which) for items recovered and never claimed!

Can anyone say where the money this generates goes to? Is it a charity?

If anybody is really interested, Garda vehicles are sold by Wilsons Auctions on the N7 (near Baldonnel. They have a website - google it.)

I don't really see that we have a "right to know". I'm sure it's not a big crazy conspiracy or anything, the goods they sell at these auctions are sold at a tiny fraction of their value, I'd imagine a lot of the money goes to cover
storage costs.
