    Ello all,
    Apologies if this is a bit off topic...tiz...bit tizzn't. I have a podlem. I have a normal .gif file....its a piccy of a company logo I'm doin a project on. It's as boring as fupp....2d.....2 colors etc. What I would like to do is acquire a proggy that takes that gif and wraps it around a rotating sphere or summit a bit more dynamic than the joe-soaper it is, and then I can lob it on a website and hopefully get a few ooooo's 'n awwwww's. Anyone know a nice proggy that can do this fer me? Eye-Candy styleeeeee. Any help muchos appreciated.
    K.

    any 3d programme will do this really. if u get computer arts or 3dworld there'll be trials and sometimes free versions of 3d software there. http://www.blender.nl/ is a good nuff free tool thatll do this. if u want to send me the gif, tell me what kind of animation and what size (pixels) that you want the final animation ill knock it up for you if you have no luck elsewhere. i can be got at cullenm@eircom.net

    Could that be done using Java and OpenGL, or would that be too slow?

    Photoshop 5 -> 6 does it

    Also,
    Vacta 3d takes max .avi's and converts it to vector graphics, which (after some editing in flash) is fairly small in file size.
    Its esp great for doing shading, and the like as it works off max's lighting.
