After Rakti did the business earlier on in the season, i feel confident of putting up another ante post recommendation from the same connections. Ifraaj is 6/1 for next week's wokingham handicap - a minefield of a race usually - but I recommnend that this price should be taken. While there are some promising types in opposition, Ifraaj won his last race at Lingfield easily, given a confident ride by the stable jockey, who when asked in an interview after the race whether he was worried, he simply said, "i knew what I had underneath me". Connections believe that this is a group horse running in a handicap, and connections know their oats. He has been deliberately targeted at this race since that win, and although draw, pace in the race, and all the other traps that could ruin our chance in the cavalry charge. I think Ifrraaj is too good for this lot. Ew price for those who are that way inclined. Ive taken VC 6/1 about an hour ago. I dont think the price will last for long. I think he will go off at closer to 3/1.

I'd definitely have to agree with you on that one Morgans, when I first looked at the Lingfield race I thought he was a redicilously short price for such a big field, but after having a look at it's form and speed ratings I knew it was a good thing.

I seem to remember it being very badly drawn at Lingfield and still winning easily.

The only problem is that Soldiers Tale is being touted as much the same, a future group horse running in a handicap off a decent mark. It might be worth backing the two, Soldiers Tale is 6/1 with Paddy Power at the moment, he is a bit shorter on Betfair.

On the subject of Ante-Post bets for York what do you think of Westerner for the Gold Cup, he is still 11/4 with Ladbrokes, he looks a different class and will probably go off nearer 6/4 I reckon. The concerns with him whether the firmer ground will be a problem, it was really firm in this race last year when he came 2nd.

Westener has the form in the book, but Vinnie Roe ran a better reappearance race than he usually does and York would suit him better than Ascot. I think has a sound each way shot at 6s in opposition to Westender. Just not entirely convinced by the favourite. Earplugs or not.

Iffraaj cut from 6s into 9/2 with VC bet.

Very impressive performance by Westerner, I'm well pleased with the 11/4 I took him at last week.

Good stuff Morgans, hope you had a nice few quid on. I had both Ifraaj at 5/1 and also did Soldiers Tale who didn't run. It will be interesting to see where they go with Ifraaj next, it will have to be a listed race at least.

Although he would have it to prove in the highest company, it wouldnt surprise me if we next saw him in the July Cup. Big step up in class, but he comes from a classier background than many of the handicappers that contest the group 1 sprints.

I had a good a good few quid on all right. There is a lot of rubbish talked about Murtagh, Fallon, Kinane, Dettori. To me, he is slightly old fashioned, but there is no better jockey riding than Philip Robinson. He never gets it wrong tactically. The type of jockey that is never caught napping.

There's no better person to read a race than Robinson, I backed New Seeker during the week and the ride he gave it must be one of the rides of the season, he had all bar one horse beaten 5 furlongs from home. It's not often you can say such a thing in a race like the Hunt Cup. He uses the attributes of a course to his advantage.
