there's some really decent forwards in the squad for japan but the backs are such a joke that i'm not sure if i can bear to watch them struggle, mishandle but eventually (surely?) overcome an inferior side like japan. that doesn't sound like entertainment it sounds like torture. although it would be very nice to see horan and quinlan and the other munster boys do well.

actually maybe a bit harsh there. bowe and duffy are only youngfellas. they can't be tarred with the same brush as the girvanator and maggsy, both of whom i'm grateful to for their service despite the despair they've caused me at various times.

i would have liked to see Lewis in the centre with Duffy and Cambell at scrum half... maybe Gary Browne on the wing with Bowe at 15...

i think we all know what Maggs and Dempsey and Stringer are capable of, why not have a look at some others

where's Shane Jennings and Denis Leamy? - injured?

Whats Dempsey doing there? or Maggs? I would like to see Lewis and Gary Brown given a go as I have never seen either of them play. At least Bowe and Duffy are starting.

Wasted tour as far in my view and they havent even started yet. Whats the point in travelling the whole way round the world to sit on the bench. And dont give me its character building and getting them used to international rugby sh!te. This is professional rugby.

    My Team

    15.Duffy.
    14.Bowe
    13.Quinlan
    12.Lewis
    11.Horgan
    10.Stauton
    9.Campell
    8.Wislon
    7.Jennings
    6.Leamy
    5.Hogan
    4.McCullough
    3.Best
    2.Sheehan
    1.Horan

    Bench

    16.Wallace
    17.Cullen
    18.Jackman
    19.Stringer
    20.Humphries
    21.Maggs
    22.Corrigan

simon keogh should have been involved. jennings not going is a joke. if he was not chosen purely on foot of his move, that is a disgrace

Lots of ulster players on the team which seems weird but fair dues to them, Im also fancinated by the lone connacht player on the bench ;)

Anyway as fo the team we all know that maggs and dempsey are useless now. I mean Maggs was a great player be he is pretty useless now and I always thought Murphy was far superior to Dempsey who is just terrible.

I like the fact that some young fellas are getting their chance. Im a fan of Duffy , who I would be playing in fullback position but still ;) Bowe is also a very good player who will only get his second chance to play in an Ireland jersey just like Duffy which should be good to watch.

As for stauton over humphries nukkem, I have to compleatly dissagree with you there. Humphries is ace and stauton had a terrible season at harliquins. I mean the best thing munster ever did was to get rid of him. I cant believe Wasps bought him  At the same time I suppose its good as it gives them a crap flyhalf :P If they brought any spare flyhalf it should of been Elwood. He gave so much to connacht and its a shame to see him leave rugby.

Anyway thats all I gotta say about the team ;)

Yes my case and point. What value does it get Ireland by putting on such an experienced player of his calibre - we know he's good but we have no cover to speak of if ROG and Humph gets injured. Alright Burke but think of the future. Stauton is the only candidate at the moment (unfortunetly),why play a guy who has a rake of experiance on a development tour

44-12 was the final score but could have been a hell of a lot more IMO. So many unforced errors, handling errors and silly things. Wilson looked great and so did Duffy and Bowe. Hope Ireland realise they have a wealth of talent in the backline now.

Humphs was down and out with what looked like a concussion,Staunton came on and besides some wary judgement calls had a good game. Some huge kicks, place kicking was alright but he is just too adventerous sometimes.
Sheehan showed how good the lineout could be and Best looked ok but struggled with the conditions as did some of the players. JOC fought for everything even 1mm off the deck.Clive shoulda taken him not Easterby!

I thought it was a terrible game to look at.

Whats the point in going for penalties all the time when the game is won? The kicker can practice anytime. As for the handling, it was pittiful. The team reminded me of the lions yesterday - no cohesion whatsoever. They never looked like they knew what they were doing but then again neither did Ireland in the 6 nations.
