The extreme side of Bodybuilding

I was watching Ripley's Believe It Or Not last night and there was this escapologist guy that was doing one of his tricks in front of a live audience and the guy that was tying him up could of been in the show in his own right as he had the biggest and quite frankly scariest looking biceps I'd ever seen.

I done a quick search on Google and found out his name is Greg Valentino.

As you can from the pics his arms are definitely not the norm.

    One word: synthol.

He has his own magnificently erudite column in Muscular Development each month if you want to read his musings on philosophy, evolution and the paradigmatic change currently facing professional bodybuilding.

I couldnt stop laughing at that show. He just looked ridiculous, little forearms with these stupid biceps that were hindering his movement. Why would you want to look like that?

He does admit himself it's a genetic freak. There's no way anyone normal, even working out for 25 years, could produce that. They're deformities, well-toned deformities, but deformities all the same. He's no different than any of those people who enhance and showcase their freakish qualities.

He's not a bodybuilder, he was in his younger years. Look at the pics of him from early contests. He's a funny guy though, always enjoy his stories about **** bubbles in MD!

They say he's "the most hated man in bodybuilding" but bodybuilding is about symmetry and aesthetics. This fool is just an extreme muscle builder or, as others have said, freak. Just like those spanners who mutilate their genitals and fork their tongues. Or maybe I just "don't understand"

he said he wanted to be a freak in an article i read a while ago...he wanted to have the biggest arms ever so thats all he worked out and he admits to have taken steroids etc...said that once he stopped do it killed his sex drive :D
    fool!

    Those arms aren't real.

He injects his arms with stuff and it makes them go like that.

If I can I'll try find the article.

edit; yeah second poster was right..synthol.

yea your right...i read up about him injecting the anabolics right into his bicepts instead of his ass and thats what makes them that big

So by that reckoning, anybody that takes steroids the right way (into the ass) would have a gigantic ass?

If you read the article I posted, he states that he did infact use to inject straight into his arms and as a result got absesces, one of which got that bad that it had to be cut out by a doctor. That's why one of his biceps doesn't go to a peak like the other.

Cool. I'll give him the same respect I'd give anyone who topped their sport.

I agree with him on the Synthol to a man being the same to a women and brest implants.

Also, the bit about "promoters make money, but the bodybuilders make next to nothing" reminds me a bit of GAA.[font=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]

    Firstly he's not a bodybuilder, he's a disgusting excuse.

As has been said he uses Synthol which is a site injection oil. Basically it's a non toxic oil that he shoots into the muscle to stretch the facia and give him bumps where ever he wants.

Here's a series of pics showing his bicep when the oil caused a massive rupture. Don't look if you're quesy - http://www.ronnie.cz/c-205-Greg-Valentino.html

What sport did he top exactly?
I agree with him on the Synthol to a man being the same to a women and brest implants.

Umm it's not. Bicep implants or pec implants would be the same to a man as breast implants are to a woman, Synthol is absolutely no comparison to silicone implants.

Except in bodybuilding it's largely true.

hes a disgusting sick freak! hes not realy a bodybuilder as the main aim in bodybuilding is whole body and symmetry(i think) which he dosent have!and if he neds to inject himself to get that big he dosent deserve it!! he obiously wasnt ment to get that big!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,382 ✭✭✭✭AARRRGH

As people have said, this is not bodybuilding. It has nothing to do with bodybuilding. It is injecting oil into your muscles, NOT STEROIDS.

I could look like him in a few months if I wanted. We all could.

    :D

Yes, but his mutant muscles are oil.

I am sure he has nice, normal muscles there too, but what we are seeing (freekish lumps) is not from doing steroids, weight lifting etc.
