Anyone ever been to Tunisia? Where would you recommend I stay, at which resort? Is there much to do? What is the food like?

Bro is heading there in 2 weeks, by all accounts its good for a nice relaxing holiday. You can only drink inside your hotel as there is no bars or clubs, against their religion.

It can also get quite warm up to 40 degrees in places around June and July.

Went there for a week about 3/4 years ago..

Was good fun, cant remember the name of the resort we stayed in but yes drinking is not allowed outside your resort.. but in saying that i dont remember a problem getting beer in any restraunts..

Also they dont have the safty regulations that would be in a normal EU country, i.e. we could rent jet bikes with no life jackets etc..

Taxis are very cheap, we were in one for over 1hr and it only cost us US$5, this was before the Euro came in. We tipped him an extra $5 and he almost had heartfailure.

Make sure you do the Sahara camel walk and the trip to the Lybian(sp) border trip all very intresting

Thanks very much! Is there much to do, would you get bored if you went for two weeks? How's the food? Just afraid I won't be able to eat, and I'll fade away over there!!

Humm.. not sure about the 2 weeks.. it can get very hot... i do remember at the end saying that 1 week was enough,

The food was alsways top class, ask the hotel or tour guide for a recomended restraunt, it will be expensive for Tunisian people but nothing compared to a meal in a dublin restraunt. a good steak was about £6 in a classy place.
