I'm thinking of getting a Sky+ Box, can someone tell me how much it costs? Are they doing any special offers at the moment?

I think it has dropped to €159 in the last couple of weeks. More here.

Sorry maybe I should have been clearer, I have Sky already I want to upgrade to A Sky+ box to watch programmes whenever I want and was wondering if anybody got it in lately, how much the box cost? Any special deals at the moment? Is there an extra montly charge for it? My normal sub is €28 a month no sports or films so will this rise?

I got Sky+ a few months ago. Was going multi-room and rang up looking for a second digibox. They told me since I had the full package - sports & movies - I could upgrade to Sky+ for 15 euro extra a month, which is what you pay anyway for standard multi-room. Installation was free as well.

The fact that I had the full package meant the monthly Sky+ subscription fee was dropped. Was a good deal but I don't know if it's still running. One catch was you have to connect both boxes to your phoneline. Give Sky a ring and see what they've got on offer.

Wasn't all that sold on Sky+ when we decided to get it but I've been converted. It really is great, no more messing around with tapes, slow rewinding, crappy record quality, setting timers etc. Just hit record and off you go. When watching it you can just rip past the ads in a few seconds and the picture quality is identical to the original broadcast. I don't watch TV "live" anymore, just pick what I want in the digi-guide and watch it when I have the time.

    It's the future!! ;)
