I'm going to Aus on my hols tomorrow. My Dad gave asum of money in Australian Dollars and I am looking to purchase something in the Irish Dutyfree. Will I be able to pay for it with Australian Dollars?

    This is the commuting/transport forum!

Many of the tills in duty free are multi-currency but you probably won't get the best exchange rates. Depending on your route you'll you might also be able to use the duty-free in London, Bangkok or on the plane. To be honest with you, unless you are a smoker I would see now point in lugging your duty free allowance around the world. Use your credit card for a better exchange rate.

Make sure you know the duty free allowance in Australia first.

Why not take some Irish cash with you? Any left over you will need on hte way back.
