Has anyone ever bought a metal tube in a hardware store or other such things and used it as a slide. In music maker they seem to be a fierce price for a metal tube.

It's what €5 for a slide? You could easily get a piece of metal tubing but you'd probably have to buy a length of it and cut it to size. And you'd have to make sure the edges have been blunted, don't want to lop a finger off whilst playing.

20 euro for a slide? No way. I got mine for 5 euro, fair enough it was 2-3 years ago but come on!

Local guitar shop is selling solid brass slides for €20. Dunno if I could be bothered with them. That said, it's €20 once if you take care.

yep, if you break it just right and sand the edges.

I got a metal slide for €5 about two years ago. Maybe for some crazy crafted custom brass one someone can justify charging that but you should be able to get a slide much cheaper then that.

I got a brass one a year or two ago for a fiver myself.

Have you tried Goodwins on Capel street. They normally have things like this cheaper than anywhere else.

Well I got mine in Instrumental on the quays for a fiver. Just do a tour of all the instrument shops near Musicmaker. Musician Inc, Perfect Pitch and Waltons. One of them is bound to have a slide for a realistic price.

    That's a cool idea but at 24 dollars it's a bit pricey.

I got my steel slide for about £15 in musicmaker. I seriously doubt they've gotten any cheaper in there.

You're all crazy bastards paying that for a slide.

Giblet, a little less of the insulting talk if you'd be so kind.
