Any of ye got one?. Just had a look under the hood of one and I hope this thing has a timing chain, not belt, cause 1/2 the front of the car would have to be removed to get at a belt. Anyone know if it is belt or chain?

And I thought I had problems.

I have 01 estate engine code AWT. And it has belt and yes you have to remove bumper, headlamps, radiator to get to a belt. There are videos on youtube where guy works on TB without removing radiator.

I replaced timing belt 6-7 months ago. Full TB kit 180-190 euro, coolant fluid 20-30e. Most local garages (I live in Limerick) are charging 200+euro for TB replacing, but i found russian or latvian guy who did it for 140e and he changed air and cabin filters for free. Overall 350ish isnt too bad.
Next time ill ask him if its possible to plug radiator pipes and ill save another 30euro on coolant.
