    Start -> Run -> cmd

    Type ping [address].

    The IP address will be in the first line shown, if it can be resolved.

    Open a command prompt and write ping *URL*

    Easiest way I know of.

    You shouldn't need a site's IP for Port Forwarding.

    Here's how you do it anyway.
    Start > Run
    Type "cmd" on Win2000/XP or "command" on Win98/ME
    In the black box that opens, type "ping" then whatever the address is, say www.boards.ie
    Hit return

    This will then show something like this:
    ping www.google.ie

    Pinging www.l.google.com [66.249.87.104] with 32 bytes of data:

    Reply from 66.249.87.104: bytes=32 time=43ms TTL=243
    Reply from 66.249.87.104: bytes=32 time=56ms TTL=243
    Reply from 66.249.87.104: bytes=32 time=66ms TTL=243
    Request timed out.

    Ping statistics for 66.249.87.104:
        Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 3, Lost = 1 (25% loss),
    Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
        Minimum = 43ms, Maximum = 66ms, Average = 55ms

    The IP address is right there, in this case 66.249.87.104
