    Hi there guys,

I was just wondering if you guys knew the best place for tattoo apprenticeships or if anyone knows if anyone is looking for apprentices. I have a friend who is really interested in becoming a tattoo artist but isn't too sure how to go about it.

    Thanks in advance,

    Sam.

I wouldnt say that, you can pay in some cases for one but your best bet is too keep at some tattooests.
Offering to work for free, even just for a few hours a week will show that you really want it.
Most studios are afraid of people just wanting the job cuz its cool!
It takes many years of hard work and ****l all pay to have a chance at getting some of it back.
    Hope this helps

    Take a look at http://www.tattoo-school.com.

It may have some useful info on becoming an artist.

those course are handy at best, but anyone that teels you they can teach you in a month is just trying to rip you off.
they are handy though to get an all round idea of what is involved, but not to bo competent enough at the end to pierce

you really have to be a damn good artist first,no shop is going to take a chance with apprentices unless they have been drawing /painting most of their lives and they have a very impressive portfolio, then they might consider you ,anyone can tattoo if they are shown but not many of them are great artists and thats what its all about,ps. it helps if you have some tasteful tats of your own.

Yup, thread locked, as there's not really any point keeping a long-dead thread open.
